Using a qualified company secretary part-time, on interim assignments, or for special projects
The role of the company secretary is changing and many boards are taking the opportunity to delegate corporate governance tasks to other parts of their organisation. There does however remain the need to retain the services of a professional company secretary to:
- advise on matters of company compliance, such as the Companies Act;
- manage shareholder meetings and share transactions;
- co-ordinate the formation, integration or reorganisation of companies in a group; and
- champion matters of legal and commercial good practice.
Drawing on over a decade’s experience as a company secretary, I offer a range of solutions to suit your organisations corporate governance needs at competitive rates. Services can include report preparation, board meeting attendance, director briefings, production of legal documents, and online/telephone governance support. My business arrangements are underpinned by the code of conduct of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries & Administrators.
Succession planning and mentoring service
A good company secretary is hard to find, particularly outside London and the home counties. Therefore, businesses looking to employ a corporate governance specialist, may want to develop an existing employee into the role. During the employees transition period I can provide interim support, tapering off relative to their development. Support can include both 'doing' and mentoring depending on need.
